I like to give MD cards to a couple of my gf’s who are moms. I have no kids and my mom has passed, as well. It’s tough, but try to look at that glass as 1/2 full. Not empty.

Sadly, both my mom (2011) & my MIL (2020) have passed so I no longer have the need to buy Mother’s Day cards. Maybe my boys will remember to get 1 for me? Well, I believe 1 of them will. He has surprised me the last few years by remembering and had gotten me flowers as well. (Hint… it’s NOT the son who got married. He tends to forget. For instance, they’re going to FLA for Mother’s Day weekend because her sister moved down there and they haven’t seen her since Thanksgiving/the weekend of the celebration of their earlier elopement. They haven’t seen us since then either, but who am I to point that out? At least they’re coming in for my boys 25th birthday in June. Sigh….

Yes, thank you for asking. I just got REALLY sad when I realized they’re all gone. I used to host Mother’s Day at my house because none of them wanted to go to a restaurant as that’s a REALLY busy day to go out. Now I can celebrate Mother’s Day for me as a mom but my boys are all grown up and out of the house so it’s a sad day for me. Sometimes it just sucks getting old!
I’m so sorry. Hugs to you. Maybe try to get out with some friends. Or treat yourself for something nice. I never celebrate Hallmark holidays (valentines, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day etc). But I see your point of feeling abandoned regardless. Try to distract yourself with something nice. Maybe a good movie? A friend to talk to? Kids do grow up so fast. Hugs to you. Always remind yourself that you’re here, you’re healthy, you’re moving around. After half of my family died of cancer (or in a remission now), I appreciate every day just for being able to live.
Im really sorry for your losses. I also really struggle with mother’s day (hardest day of the year for me in many ways). I’ll never get to be a mom or grandma to human children but I absolutely love my cat children.
