A lot of changes happening with Starbucks recently, now another one is coming which involves them on switching to using nugget ice to their iconic drinks instead. The nugget ice maker presumably consumes less water, and Starbucks is committed to reducing its water footprint by 2030.
The transition will occur over the course of a few year, and the new ice makers will be delivered first to stores that produce the most iced beverages. Hence, you might not notice the change this year if you often buy at Starbucks branches that mainly sells hot beverages.
Starbucks stated that tests have been conducted to verify that the new ice won’t melt more quickly than the current ice they’re using. They would continue to use the same ice scoopers, so the amount of ice in each cup should stay the same.
Is that the same ice as Sonic? I love that type of ice.
Thnx!
You’re welcome Beatrice!
