Most used streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney Plus are increasing their monthly subscription fees. Starting off with Netflix which had six price increases before and will be on their seventh after the SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike is resolved. Both Netflix Basic and Netflix Premium accounts will be affected:
- Netflix Basic (1 screen, no HD) – from $9.99 per month to $11.99 per month
- Netflix Premium (stream up to 4 screens at a time) – from $19.99 per month to $22.99 per month
Netflix ad-supported and Netflix Standard subscription won’t be having any price increase which means that fees will remain at $6.99 per month and $15.49 per month, respectively. The 30-day free trial for new subscribers of Netflix has been officially suspended. Also, there’s a new type of subscription called “Netflix Paid Sharing” where outsiders are charged $8.99 per month to access the account.
Disney Plus had a $1 increase from their introductory price of $6.99 way back 2020 in their Disney+ Basic subscription. Also, there would be changes in their bundle subscriptions:
- Disney Plus Trio no-ads bundle – from $19.99 per month to $24.99 per month
- Disney Plus basic (ad-supported) “Trio” bundle – from $12.99 per month to $14.99 per month
For those existing customers who are paying $14.99 per month for Disney Plus (with no ads), Hulu (with ads), and ESPN+ (with ads) bundle are now increased to $18.99 per month. Note that this bundle is no longer available for new subscribers.

Everything is going up food Deals you used to find last year they are doubled at times plus Xmas it’s hard
There’s tons of sites that stream the same movies & shows for free 😅 just have to deal with the pop up ads but the one i’m currently using is solarmovie.pe
Thank you for sharing, Ericca! For me, those ads are one of my pet peeves lol 🙈 So I’d always go for a paid streaming service, plus you can go to customer service in case of glitches or something. But yes, whoever is ok with the ads, it’s cool to know there are free options out there!
Thank you for the updates. It’s a shame everything is going up.
You’re so welcome! I totally agree, but there’s nothing we can do at this point now.
