• Amazon Prime Prices are Going Up 😱 (Lock in Current Price!)

Amazon just announced price increases for their Prime membership plans. The updated pricing will apply to Prime sign-ups starting on February 18, 2022. This means that the yearly membership will increase from $119 to $139/year, and the monthly membership from $12.99 to $14.99/month.

For Prime Student members, the price of the monthly membership will increase from $6.49 to $7.49/month, and the price of the annual membership will increase from $59 to $69/year while qualifying EBT and government assistance recipients membership price will increase from $5.99 to $6.99/month.

Would you renew at this rate?

Note that for current Prime members, the new prices will apply after March 25, 2022, on the date of their next renewal.

How To Skip The Price Increase?

Fortunately, we found an awesome way to keep the same price for at least another year even after the increase! You need to be quick since you can only do it before February 18th. See steps below:

    • Buy yourself an annual Prime Gift Membership
    • Go to the Prime membership plans to disable auto-renew
    • Click ‘Manage Membership’
    • Click ‘End Membership’
(Opt to click on ‘Keep My Benefits’ to keep your Prime membership in effect until it expires)
    • Once your membership expires, just apply the Gift Membership to your account and get another full year of Prime for just $119!

Does this apply to ebt/disabled accounts as well? I couldn’t find a way to purchase a gift membership for my disabled daughter.

As if they need more money 😒

Yes I will renew at this rate just for the shipping benefit

mine renewed for the year on the 2nd and I will not renew at the new price next year. I have been a member since it was only $79 per year and stuck with the price raising so far. Now everything costs extra, unlimited, music, the kids play, etc… All I get for $120 is movies and TV and shipping that hasn’t been 2-3 days in eons. If I get something the same week I order I’m excited any more. Service and benefits have declined so it does not equate in a rise in prices for me.

      Thank you !!

It recognizes that I have Prime Membership active and wouldn’t let me purchase at all.

I will keep my Prime. The benefits are worth it to me, especially the shipping and movies/shows

Thank you for this! There are a few options after hitting cancel my membership. One is remind me later and one is simply keep my membership. I clicked to keep my membership. Is that right? I was expecting some kind of confirmation, but didn’t see anything.

Again, thank you! Saving a little here and there is what it’s all about!

Hi Amy! You’re so welcome. I’m not 100 percent sure but if you didn’t get any confirmation, it should be okay. Just note that for current Prime members, the new prices will apply after March 25, 2022, on the date of their next renewal.

Hi Tina, I will keep my Amazon Prime. My father uses more than I do and he loves the one or two day shipping. So do I. I can look at movies, listen to music on my echo dot or from the car. Plus I can use it at Whole foods Market.

      Omg seriously going up!
 Everything is going up!
I went into the Dollar Tree the other day where everythings supposed to be $1 and now everything’s $1.25!!
like really why are they raising the prices up during these times in need?!
 Crazy

I found this when I visited Dollar Tree recently. But just as things are going up for us, the consumers, I’m sure it’s going up for them. As I shopped that day I thought about how they have probably needed to raise prices for awhile. They have some things that are way above the $1.25 they are now charging.
