Starting in January, Amazon will cover 100% of the college tuition for their front-line employees! More than 750,000 operations employees will enjoy the benefits which also include the cost of classes, books, and fees being paid by Amazon. Employees will be able to participate in the program after 90 days of working for the company.
The highlight of the program is that the company will pay the tuition fees in advance, meaning that everyone eligible can enroll without existing funding available. Furthermore, operations employees will have access to educational funds as long as they stay in the company without a limit of the number of years they can use the program benefits.
Walmart is also offering a debt-free college for its employees, read more about that here.
Besides funding associate and bachelor’s degrees at hundreds of educational partners, the company will additionally offer funding for high school completion, GEDs, and English as second language proficiency certificates.
More training programs are available for Amazon’s employees to obtain new skills, including AWS training, UXDRP Apprenticeship, Surge2IT, head over here for more information about these programs.
Does anyone know if they pay for existing students loans as well as going back to school? This.is a wonderful thing! I wish education was free! All huge companies should offer this!
Electronic deals please
Every large company should do this or even better shouldnt education be free? Good start though. Amazon really does give back and I think it’s a good thing that they are doing this and maybe other companies like Walmart and places like that will start to help as well. Good stuff
This is awesome!!!
