It doesnât matter what kind of deal it is. When you use % off coupon with extra bucks, the system will deduct your $ value coupons and extra bucks first and then take % off of leftover. So, in this case, one of the sets is $4.99. Letâs say you have $3 extra bucks and decide to use it with 50% coupon. The system will do this : $4.99 -$3.00=$1.99-50%= $0.99. So you will pay 99 cents plus tax, get $4 extra bucks for doing the deal, and your end cost will be $3 extra bucks you used+99 cents + tax you paid- $4 extra bucks for doing the deal= 1 cent money maker+ tax. Letâs say you donât use extra bucks. The system will do this: $4.99-50%=$2.49 plus tax, you get $4 for doing the deal and your final cost is $2.49+tax-$4 extra bucks you receive =$1.50 moneymaker + tax. So, by using $3 extra bucks on the deal, you are loosing $1.49.

Same. I got 40% of Nyx one time and completely forgot to do it on a separate transaction so I will not use extra bucks. It was supposed to be free transaction, but ended up taking only few cents because I used extra bucks.
By the way, donât use Extra Bucks when using % coupons at CVS. The % coupon will take off % value of whatever left after all the other coupons applied including Extra Bucks.

If you counted extra bucks towards your deals when you get them, then they become like your cash. If you donât count them into your deals when getting them, then they can be used as coupons. So, it depends on your own accounting of the deals, otherwise it doesnât make sense.
