After 35 years of holding the price of $1, Dollar Tree has raised the price of the majority of its products to $1.25!
Dollar Tree said that the slightly higher prices will give the them more flexibility to reintroduce many “customer favorites” that were previously discontinued because of the $1 price point and for them to introduce new products to its shelves.
The company said the higher price point is a permanent move, and not the result of “short-term or transitory market conditions”. It was also announced that the $1.25 price point will be rolled out to more than 2,00 Dollar Tree stores.

Pretty old news for us in NY. Was a little upset but have since gotten over it, I think. Employees say they have not received a raise so I guess this is strictly product based. I must say I buy less when I go in now. Only get what I need.
I will still shop there when I can. The nearest store is 40 miles away but I usually stop there when I visit my grandkids. They have a store right around the corner. I’m surprised it took this long to raise prices though. It’s time they started to care for their employees too. A store in MD treated my daughter like she lived in the store, working her 5am to 6 or 7pm and she has three kids aged 7-12 at the time. She worked there for 7 months and nothing changed so she left. I know it’s a ‘Dollar Store’ but treat your employees with the respect they deserve.
you are absolutely right!! It’s a real shame what our world is coming to I feel bad for my grand daughters it’s a sad, sad, thing. $1.25 from $1.00 that’s the best thing that is happening compared to the rest of the world Gotta love our great government huh?

I can’t see them keeping the 2/1.00 raising it to 1.25 cards. Some items will not be worth the trip after the price change. Better watch your products, quality & quantity.
I think it’s quite rediculous really. I myself never leave that place w/o spending between $20-30 min. There are always at least 2-3 shoppers with over flowing carts in various lines with me. This chain store is making money hand over first!!! I’ve been in large $1 Trees that have giant grocery sections with many freezers!
I don’t think I need to say how I feel about the price hike, but it sux monkey butt !! 😝

I loved that store… went there after they changed there price and just get 20 items I payed a 6.00 dollar difference being a single mom and living paycheck to paycheck that was upsetting and haven’t been back since…
poor people can’t make it anymore out here we loved the dollar tree but I guess they make in it harder on poor people like myself a lot of people can’t afford thing’s that’s why we loved to hit the dollar tree cause we new we had a chance to get the things we needed but I guess it will cut us out of one less thing to buy:,(
I see a bunch of people saying it’s just a quarter but for people who don’t have money to begin with a quarter is alot and they add up really fast and I use to know exactly how much I was going to have to pay now I will have to use a calculator I used to get alot of my food and household stuff from there but the majority of the stuff they have in there right now really isn’t worth a Xtra quarter so I’m waiting to see what they going to start stocking now and I wonder what they going to change there name to and I know for a fact I won’t be buying half the stuff I used to I believe it’s going to cause them to actually loose money because alot of people will either stop shopping there are they won’t buy as much as they use to maybe that will happen and they will change it back to just a dollar tree and not a dollar are a quarter tree I’m really upset about it but what can I do nothing
