After 35 years of holding the price of $1, Dollar Tree has announced that they would be raising the price of the majority of its products to $1.25 in all stores by early 2022.
Dollar Tree said that the slightly higher prices will give the them more flexibility to reintroduce many “customer favorites” that were previously discontinued because of the $1 price point and for them to introduce new products to its shelves.
The company said the higher price point is a permanent move, and not the result of “short-term or transitory market conditions”. It was also announced that the $1.25 price point will be rolled out to more than 2,00 Dollar Tree stores this coming December.
What are your thoughts about this? Let me know in the comments!
Well, it was inevitable I guess. Still good price regardless
It’s not too bad of a raise but it’s still shocking.
It should stay a dollar, I understand inflation and all that but it’s the whole point that it’s the only ACTUAL dollar store around anymore , and most of those things are made in china for pennies
I agree 1,000%%% 🙏🏽
I was at Dollar Tree today (NYC) and the prices had gone up😩. It won’t stop me from shopping there but I probably won’t buy as much stuff as I usually do.
sad but I am going to continue to shop and so lucky that we have one in town where I live in.
Of course it’s due to inflation. We all realize they’d go out of business unless they adjust. I’ll be stocking up
WHAT !!!! 😶
I agree with you. I feel exactly the same way.
Dollar tree is one of my go to stores for the Holidays, Birthdays, Seasonal decorations and etc, etc. I love Dollar Tree because it is (or was )the only true dollar store left around. So many stores advertise their name as dollar stores but there’s nothing be found in these other stores for a dollar and that’s why I love Dollar Tree. $1.25 is still a good price, I just hope they don’t continue to raise their prices on a regular basis.
Ditto VLV1226 I’m excited to see what’s returning to the shelves
Agree
I agree with you
Time to stock up on my favorite items before the price increase! Thank you for the heads up!
Yes, great idea!
