After 35 years of holding the price of $1, Dollar Tree has announced that they would be raising the price of the majority of its products to $1.25 in all stores by early 2022.
Dollar Tree said that the slightly higher prices will give the them more flexibility to reintroduce many “customer favorites” that were previously discontinued because of the $1 price point and for them to introduce new products to its shelves.
The company said the higher price point is a permanent move, and not the result of “short-term or transitory market conditions”. It was also announced that the $1.25 price point will be rolled out to more than 2,00 Dollar Tree stores this coming December.
What are your thoughts about this? Let me know in the comments!
I knew this was coming
little sad, but it is what it is…
Long over due! Give it to employees
Prices continue to rise, yet 7.25 is still the minimum wage. Yes, I know that .25 isn’t a big raise, but EVERYTHING is getting more expensive. How long until we can’t even afford housing of food, or anything of that matter.
Honestly $.25 is not that much of an increase depending on what you are buying. if you think about the increase other stores have done on items.
Well after 30 years I guess 25 cents is not much of an inflation if you really think about it 🤔
Do it On a Dime shows some sections and items on her YouTube channel with the new higher priced stuff. it looks like Target quality
I thought it was going to be up to $5 or $10 for some items. They have already done it in some stores. More like a 5 below
What a bummer!! Will stick to family dollar or dollar general moving forward.. A little disappointed at this :/
Awwww I’m so sad about this. Since the price is raising, I think daiso would be better choice then because of quality
