UPDATE: This Giveaway is now over! Winner announcement has been posted on my homepage. See more Giveaways being dropped on my blog here.
My son Ryan is kind of a picky eater (he takes after my husband, Mr FSF ). While my daughter Sophie isn’t a picky eater, she would start to mimic her brother’s behaviors (and verbal complaints), and before you know it, meal times can turn into a battle of wills. Me vs them. And it usually ends in tears.
Then last year I discovered these plates made by Fred & Friends called “Dinner Winner“. They are designed to encourage kids to finish their food. If you follow me on SnapChat, you may have seen me use these plates when preparing meals for my kids.
I LOVE these trays! They are so fun and colorful. Each tray is set up like a little board game, where you follow a “map” of food to a ” hidden treasure”. When you finish the trail of food, the last placement is a covered spot for a hidden treat.  This is your “bait”. #Genius!
The first day I brought these plates out, they were an instant hit! And they really did motivate both my kiddos to finish their food, including things they didn’t like. I’ve since gotten these trays in pretty much every pattern . They really do make mealtime more fun, and can motivate and encourage picky eaters to finish their meals (and even try new things). I typically put a little piece of chocolate in the treat spot and that does the trick.
Anyway, it’s been a lot of fun preparing their meals and watching them use these trays. If you have a fussy eater, or you just want to add some fun into meal time, I recommend checking these plates out. They come in 5 different patterns.

For my son Liam, from Miami, FL. Would love help encouraging him to eat more vegetables.
I have 4 children, I cook dinner every night & all my children but 1 eat whatever is for dinner. My 7yr old daughter requests cereal or top ramen every night over a healthy meal. I’ve tried different approaches to entice her to eat what is for dinner but I’ve given up. When I saw your post on IG I thought this might actually work. She LOVES candy/sugars so this would motivate her to eat to get to the treat. I’ve bribed her w/deserts before but this makes it a game & she can see the reward approaching.
Thank you for the idea, I’m going to try this technique even if I dont have the tray.
Hello Tina thanks for this insightful post. I am writing to you in response to your article for a chance to win this beautiful and thoughtful food tray. I’m from Miramar Fl and I have major issues with my 8 year old son’s eating habits. I had my son’s blood levels tested before the fall season of the new school year and not to my surprise my healthy 8 yr old son tested positive for elevated cholesterol and triglycerides level because all he wants to eat is pizza, nuggets, juice and sweets. My husband is guilty of giving in to the pressures of feeding him only what he likes. I have been struggling with trying to get him to eat a healthy balance diet. Since the blood results, I have eliminated pizza, salami and other fattening foods from his diet. We have implemented more bake chicken & fish in his diet. However he refuses to eat any vegetables or fruits. I tried introducing him to fruit smoothies but he frowns upon it and wont drink it. Please help! I think this tray would be a great idea.
Iâd love to win this for my 6 year old picky eater!! She canât sit still and eat her food ! If she does sheâs done eating after just a few bites which then I start bargaining 5 more bites please 3 more bites please ! Kids love to be rewarded i think this tray is an AMAZING idea and good save us so much frustration between us !! I add the amount of food Iâll be satisfied with her eating and her goal is right in front of her at the finish line !!
I’ve struggled with my daughter’s eating habits since birth. She couldn’t keep my breast milk or regular formula down. I has to switch her to soy but now she drinks regular milk with no problem. Now 3 years later her foods that she eats are limited and even then sometimes she wont want to eat. Oh but don’t leave a bag of chips unsupervised because she will eat them with out a single complaint. My other two kids will eat and atleast try about everything. This tray seems like a good idea to trick my daughter to trying new foods and eating more. . . Thank you.
My 2 year old girl, Jade is probably the pickiest eater of all time!
She rather drink her calories (milk) instead of eating them. If Iâm lucky enough for her to eat anything she like to chew and spit it out right after.
Lately, sheâs been eating and trying new foods and I think this would definitely encourage her to eat more. Iâve also cut back a lot of giving her snacks and instead offered fruits and veggies during every single meal even though, she doesnât touch it.
Thank you from Queen Creek, Arizona
Feeding time is always a battefield with my 3 year old daughter. I’ve never seen or heard about these trays before and think they’d be worth using if it’ll help my child enjoy her food.
My daughter is 5 and she is super picky – itâs hard to get her to try new foods, Iâve tried making the food into little animals like ants on a log = raisens on a celery stick with peanut butter sandwiches in forms of shapes – Iâm recently stopped giving her lunchables, and I even show her videos of other kids eating healthy foods to encourage her. I showed her these trays and she loved them! Not the brocolli thou đ
These trays would be amazing for my daughter who is 2. She is a picky eater and she loves eating fries, chicken nuggets, pasta and pizza . Right now I’m trying my best to make her try different types of veggies and fruits. The struggle i need help with is trying to do different meal ideas and being creative so she doesn’t get bored with the food.
For my daughterâĽď¸ or niece âĽď¸
