• Favorite Things Friday: Dinner Winner Kids Dinner Trays (Making Meal Time Fun)

UPDATE: This Giveaway is now over! Winner announcement has been posted on my homepage. See more Giveaways being dropped on my blog here.

My son Ryan is kind of a picky eater (he takes after my husband, Mr FSF ). While my daughter Sophie isn’t a picky eater, she would start to mimic her brother’s behaviors (and verbal complaints), and before you know it, meal times can turn into a battle of wills. Me vs them. And it usually ends in tears.

Then last year I discovered these plates made by Fred & Friends called “Dinner Winner“. They are designed to encourage kids to finish their food. If you follow me on SnapChat, you may have seen me use these plates when preparing meals for my kids.

I LOVE these trays! They are so fun and colorful. Each tray is set up like a little board game, where you follow a “map” of food to a ” hidden treasure”.  When you finish the trail of food, the last placement is a covered spot for a hidden treat.   This is your “bait”. #Genius!

The first day I brought these plates out, they were an instant hit! And they really did motivate both my kiddos to finish their food, including things they didn’t like. I’ve since gotten these trays in pretty much every pattern . They really do make mealtime more fun, and can motivate and encourage picky eaters to finish their meals (and even try new things). I typically put a little piece of chocolate in the treat spot and that does the trick.

Anyway, it’s been a lot of fun preparing their meals and watching them use these trays. If you have a fussy eater, or you just want to add some fun into meal time, I recommend checking these plates out. They come in 5 different patterns.

I have a 4 year old going on 5 that is not necessarily too picky he eats pretty much a little of everything but that would be an exciting Trey to give him a snack because every time he eats you always request a snack or candy or something at the end and that would be a great thing for him

MY son is 5 and can be a picky eater. He might have eaten it yesterday but it doesn’t matter mean he’ll have I t today lol i encourage him to try new foods specially veggies. Thanks to the preschool he went to at least he tries because they would grow their own fruit and veggies. He loves Mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, and has recently started enjoying California rolls. FOR him to eat vegetables I’ll cook them down and mix it into for example tomato sauce for spaghetti. NO one will tell the difference.

        Bernadette L Kiser :

Hi Bianca, I used to have those same frustrations. Then my pediatrician said “she’ll eat when she is hungry. She’s not going to starve!” He was right. She is 16 now and she still eats when she’s hungry. The one thing I would recommend is not giving the choice of dipping sauces/condiments. They change the taste of food and I always wanted Kat to taste the real food. She still barely used condiments.

Go back to enjoying your own food and just wait for her to say she is hungry.

      Alejandra Andrade :

Well, my picky eater is 4. All she’ll eat is meat! Any type of meat; beef, pork, chicken, fish. She will not eat potatoes in any way. No rice, hardly any vegetables but loves fruit. She sees me eat vegetables all the time but she will not try them! My mother in law says my husband was the pickiest eater and to this day he is barely opening up to various foods.

      Jeannie M Wallace :

My great granddaughters name is Ella. Ella likes to throw her food at the other children. Ella likes to sneak and feed her food to the dogs. Ella spits her food at the other kids and throws it in the floor so she doesn’t have to eat it. She does this when her parents aren’t watching and if they leave the room. However, grandma’s approach is a little different. Grandma sits beside Ella while she eats. This causes her to throw a huge fit because I won’t let het get down until she’s done. This way she can’t pull any of her tricks to get out of it. So I let her throw her fit and when she’s just about worn out, I pick up her plate or bowl and calmly tell her that I will feed her the rest and she can get down the moment she finishes her food. She almost immediately calms down and we have a good time together, AND she eats a full meal that night. She is a junk food queen and her parents give in to her all day long so she’s not going to want good food when it’s dinner time. I’m not all about giving into a child because they throw fits. I’m actually the opposite. You throw a fit, I will not reward it. If you do this all thru the baby and toddler phases, what do you think you have to expect when they’re older?!? I’m not going to be the mom who has an 11 year old laying in the floor of Wal-Mart pitching a tantrum for everyone to see. Oh no, that’s not happening to me. But if she’s shown just a small bit of resistance, she will give in. Thats my picky eater story lol. Me and my brood live in Andersonville, Tennessee. Forever loyal fans. Love ya gal.

I would want these trays for BOTH my kids, almost 2 year old and 4 year old! They both eat fairly well, but they love having compartments on their tray! I think for my 1.5 year old it also helps having an edge to help him scoop up his food. Thanks for this cool giveaway!!
