Best Buy together with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission voluntarily recalls certain models of Insignia air fryers and air fryer ovens due to fire, burn, and laceration hazards. You can be eligible for the recall if you purchased an Insignia air fryer and air fryer oven at Best Buy, eBay, or other third-party sellers between November 2021 and November 2023. The affected units can overheat which can cause the handles to melt or break and the glass door to shatter.
The Insignia air fryer or air fryer oven models included in the recall are:
- NS-AF34D2
- NS-AF5DSS2
- NS-AF5MSS2
- NS-AF8DBD2
- NS-AF10DBK2
- NS-AF10DSS2
For registration of your claim and instructions on the requirements for the destruction of the units, go here. Other requirements needed for submitting a claim are photo of your unit, the model number, and the purchase receipt if you still have it.
Eligible claimants will receive a refund or Best Buy store credit equivalent to the purchase amount indicated on your receipt. For those who doesn’t a receipt, refund will amount to the average sales price for the model. Please note that Best Buy stores will not issue your refund if you return your air fryer in-stores.
