Whenever my husband and I are looking for a baby sitter or nanny, in the last few years, the site we’ve been using, exclusively, is Care.com. I’ve tried other sitter matching sites, including Free options like Craigslist, but I’ve personally found higher success and less problems on Care.com. Â And no, they didn’t pay me to say that. This is from my experience. We’ve used the site to hire our last 6 nannies and sitters in the last 4 years. They have a large pool of candidates, reviews for each candidate, and background checks.
If you’re interested in trying Care.com, you can create a job posting for Free and receive messages for Free. You just can’t send out messages until you get a premium account. From my personal experience, I’ve found that one month was enough time to find a new sitter. So every time we needed to hire someone new, I would signup for 1-month membership. Remember to cancel before the month is up, since otherwise this is a subscription. And after you cancel, make sure you get an email confirmation of the cancelation. We did have an issue the last time we subscribed, where the cancelation wasn’t received. I didn’t realize until 7 months later, I called and customer service took care of it and issued a full refund. No problems! Despite the last billing issue (which was promptly resolved), we still use the site when we need to hire any kind of care, because we’ve had a lot of success hiring from the service.
