Through September 9th, you can score a FREE Companion Pass with Southwest Airlines, meaning a friend can go with you on every flight for FREE! Before we go into the steps, you have to be a Rapid Rewards Member, if you are not, sign up here (it’s free to join).
With that out of the way, the first thing you want to do is register and purchase a round trip or two one-way flights by September 9th. After that, you’ll have to use that purchase to travel by November 18th. That’s it! Your companion pass will be valid for travels from January 6th to February 28th, 2022!
Please note that your companion must still pay related taxes and fees, which begin at $5.60 each way.
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Sign up for Rapid Rewards (free to join)
- Register for the Companion Pass
- Book a round trip or two one-way flights (by September 9th)
- Travel by November 18th
- Your companion pass becomes valid from 1/6/2022 to 2/28/2022

hello, if you buy two one way tickets for you and someone else for the same destination would it still apply?
Hey Hannah! It is best to contact their Customer Support to make sure if the offer still applies if this is done.
thanks Mallori! I think I figured it out. I believe in order for the promotion to apply it has to be two one way tickets under your name under the same rapid rewards acct. and your RR can’t be used with someone else’s name
Oh wait, the companion pass is only good for just under 2 months from Jan. 6, 2022 to Feb. 28, 2002.
Too many dates mentioned here. I’m confused . Please explain the last mentioned dates.
Hey Lety! First, you must register and purchase one round trip or two one-way flights by September 9th. Second, use that purchase and travel by November 18th. And after completing all of this, from January 6th to February 28th, 2022, your companion pass will be valid for travels by then. Hope this explains it!
This is a total score!
Hello,
What if you already booked a flight like a week ago. I wonder if you are still illegible for this.
Hi TJ! I’m not sure about this, but I would recommend contacting their Customer Support, I’m sure they will be able to answer all your questions. Hope that helps!
Wow, wow, wow!!!
