The Zuru toy making brand recalls 7.5 million toys after reported injuries to children caused by the plastic parts of the concerned toy models. Allegedly, the Baby Shark and the Mini Baby Shark Toys produced in China and imported by the Californian toy brand in the period between May 1st, 2019 and June 19th, 2022 contain a plastic fin recognizable by three perforated lines. These toys were reported to cause lacerations, impalement and punctures to children resulting in injuries and the need of a medical treatment including stitching.
The brand has produced a different line of toys which are distinguishable by the silicone fin tip that are not recalled. You can identify these by touching the tip which feels softer compared to the body of the shark and is separated by a thin line. Additionally, you can find the complete list of recalled products and how to identify them along the form to register and request your refund for the recalled toys at the press release here.
