I’m a former railroad employee. This deal is similar to what I’d get. Some employees were able to travel free, those who worked before the perk was amended. I love the Coast Starlight! It travels up the Coast of California, with amazing views. Don’t travel by train if you want a quick trip! The train itself is the trip! I don’t think I ever traveled when the train was on time. Just thought I’d share.
