Insider Secrets to Saving Money at Bath and Body Works
I love wandering through and exploring all of Bath and Body Works candles, body washes and awesome body butters. Who else loves heading over to the best-smelling store at the mall? So many wonderful scents! But, the price can be a little steep ($12.50 for body wash? Heck no!). If you’re like me and you love Bath and Body Works products, but hate their hefty price tags, read on to learn about some brilliant Bath and Body Works hacks to save you money.
1. Sign Up For The Bath & Body Works Mailing List
The first and most important Bath and Body Works hack is to sign up for the mailing list and get Bath and Body Works mailer coupons. It’s simple and quick to do, and scores you tons of awesome coupons all throughout the year. I regularly get sent coupons for $10 off $30, 25% off and even FREE products! Most of the time, the free products are travel-sized, but I recently scored a free, full-sized product coupon. Plus, mailer coupons can be stacked in-store!
2. Bath & Body Works Rewards Membership
Bath and Body Works rewards program is free to join and simple to use. Members earn a free item (worth up to $16.95) for every $100 spent, accumulating 10 points for every dollar spent. You can redeem your free item in stores or online. PLUS first time users get $10 off $30 reward which is great to use before Candle Day or the Semi-Annual Sale!
Remember to link your in-store purchases to your account to earn points. The cash register should automatically do this using the name on your credit card. If it doesn’t, you can use the barcode in the wallet section of your Bath & Body Works app (available on iOS and Android), or ask the cashier to look up your account using your phone number.
You can redeem up to eight Rewards per transaction, with each Reward allowing you to get one free item worth up to $16.95.
3. Bath & Body Works Stockup Prices
Based on the last 24 months of Bath & Body Works sale data, these are the optimal prices to aim for before making a purchase. While these aren’t the absolute lowest prices we’ve seen, they are still very competitive. You can expect these prices to appear only two to three times a year, except for candles, as Candle Day happens just once a year. Here are some of the most popular stockup prices:
- 3-wick candles: $9.95 (you might find $6.63 candles during the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sales)
- Body lotions: $4.95
- Hand soaps: $2.95
- Wallflower refills: $3.50
- Pocketbac sanitizers: $1
4. Shop the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sales
Want to get prices of at least 75% off? Shop during the Semi-Annual Sales in January and June. This is when Bath and Body Works has the absolute lowest prices of the season. They start at 75% off and go as low as 90% off toward the end of the sale period. It’s a great time to stock up on gifts for Christmas and birthdays.
5. BOGO Sales Are Also Prime Shopping Time
Okay, so say you need a gift in April but you didn’t shop in January. No problem! Just keep your eyes peeled for the Bath and Body Works BOGO sales. These are Buy 3 Get 3 FREE and you can stack coupons with the sales. So, say you purchase 6 items at $12.50 each. Retail price of that is $75. Sale price (because you get 3 free) is $37.50. Use a $10 off $30 coupon and you’ll pay just $27.50, or $4.58 per item. Not *quite* as good as the Semi-Annual sale, but still a great price!
6. Bath & Body Works Free In-Store Pickup
Bath and Body Works offers free store pickup! They didn’t have this years ago, and it’s very convenient now. I used it for the first time recently to get the $6.83 candles, part of the Semi-Annual Sale. Yes, even Semi-Annual Sale prices online can be snagged with free pickup!
7. Skip the Gift Sets at Bath & Body Works
Sure, gift sets seem like a better value. And truthfully, they are cheaper than buying each item individually at shelf price. But, your best bet is to shop the Semi-Annual sales for the best overall price. A 3-piece body wash gift set that sells for $29.50 is $8 cheaper than shelf price, but getting those 3 body washes at 75% off is only $9.38, significantly less than the gift set price.
8. Free Bath & Body Works Wallflowers Replacement
Once you buy a Wallflowers plugin, you’ll never have to buy another one again (unless you need more for different rooms in your house, of course). This is because Bath and Body Works let’s you return a broken plugin for a brand new one. It’s totally free – no strings attached! Buy a Wallflowers Plugin very cheap during the Semi-Annual sale, then never buy one again. Score!
9. Take Advantage of Bath & Body Works Price Guarantee
Bath and Body Works offers a 14 day price guarantee on their products. If something gets priced cheaper within 14 days of you purchasing it, you can get the difference refunded to you. For online purchases, call 1-800-756-5005. If you shopped in-store, just bring back in your receipt.
10. Follow Bath and Body Works on Social Media
Bath and Body Works often released sales information to their social media fans ahead of everyone else. To make sure you stay updated on the latest and greatest sales, make sure you’re following Bath and Body Works on Facebook and on Twitter.
11. Get Free Gift Wrap in Store
Shopping in-store? Make sure you grab FREE Bath and Body Works gift wrap to go with your gifts. You can get free cello wrap, ribbon and corresponding mini card for anything you buy. You can do it yourself, or you can ask them and they will do it for free, saving time and money!
12. Use Discounted Bath & Body Works Gift Cards
Do a little planning ahead for your Bath and Body Works shopping and you can save on top of coupons by using discounted gift cards. During major shopping events like Prime Day and Black Friday, Amazon often offers discounts on Bath & Body Works gift cards!Â
Buy gift cards at a place like Raise (now named The Gift Card Exchange), where they are priced at less than their value, and you can save significantly. If you spend $18 on a $20 gift card, that’s $2 that stays in your pocket! Plus, new members get a $5 credit to start shopping. Sign up for Raise now!
13. Always Get the Bath and Body Works Tote Bags
During select holidays, such as Mother’s Day and Christmas, Bath and Body Works offers deals where you can get a tote bag filled with goodies for $25 when you spend $30 on other merchandise. This “VIP Bag” is filled with products worth much more than the $25 (usually something like $100 in products), so it’s worth purchasing. I always save mine and give as gifts, tote and all!
14. Use Bath & Body Works 100% Guarantee (If Necessary).
Bath and Body Works offers an unconditional, 100% guarantee. Don’t like something? Take it back for a 100% refund, no questions asked. You need your receipt to get cash back, otherwise they’ll award you store credit. Read all about the satisfaction guarantee here.
