If you are traveling often, take advantage of Southwest’s Rapid Rewards Program (free to join). With the program, you can get free flights through the points you’ll earn! The number of points you’ll earn depends on the type of ticket you’ll purchase:

• Business Select Fares: Twelve points per $1 spent
• Anytime Fares: Ten points per $1 spent
• Wanna Get Away Plus Fares: Eight points per $1 spent
• Wanna Get Away Fares: Six points per $1 spent

Also, you can earn additional points by joining the Rapid Rewards Dining Program. When you sign up for email notifications, you’ll get three points while a half-point for those who are not signed up for every dollar you spend at qualifying restaurants. Plus, you can earn 500 bonus points in your first 30 days.

If you think you already acquired enough points, you can then redeem them for a free Southwest flight and just pay taxes and fees, starting from $5.60.
